Accessing Your Financial Aid Package
Through your online VISION account you may:
- Accept/Deny Scholarships, Grants and Loans awarded to your account.
- View the current status of your financial aid documents
- Email the ORU Financial Aid Office
Finalizing Your Financial Aid Package
Before you arrive on campus, make sure you have completed your financial aid package by returning all requested forms to the Financial Aid Office at least one month prior to your expected enrollment date. This will ensure that the time you spend waiting in various registration lines will be relatively short. - Enter Secure Area (Login to Your Account)
- Login with User ID (Your Z#) & PIN (6 Digit Birthday - mmddyy)
- Click on Student Services & Financial Aid
- Click on Financial Aid
- Click on My Award Information
- Click on Accept Award Offer by Aid Year
To review your outstanding financial aid requirements:
- Click on Student Services & Financial Aid
- Click on Financial Aid
- Click on My Eligibility
- Click on Student Requirements
- Choose 2007/2008 for Term
To access any of the applications, promissory notes, or paperwork listed as still needed, please visit the Forms page to download the appropriate documents.
In addition, if you have applied for an alternative loan make sure that you have completed all your paperwork with your chosen lender and that the status of your loan is “approved” with the Financial Aid office.
Finally, it is important that if you are chosen for the verification process, you turn in your paperwork to the Financial Aid office by July 1, 2007 to ensure timely processing by our staff. Waiting until Registration to complete the verification process will result in lengthy delays in the validation process.
Common Questions
1. Who do I contact if I get a message that my Z#/PIN is invalid when I log into VISION?
You should contact the Registrar's Office at (800) 678-8876 to reset your PIN.
2. What does it mean when I click on Accept Award by Aid Year, I choose the appropriate term, and I get the following message:
"No award information is available for you at this time, please contact your financial aid office if you have questions?" This message means that you have not been packaged with financial aid for your chosen term. Please realize that you will not be packaged with financial aid until you have been fully accepted to the University and we have received official FAFSA results from the Department of Education relevant to the specific aid year.
3. If I accept all of the aid offered to me, can I later reduce any loans if I receive additional scholarships or grants?
You may make changes to your financial aid awards whenever you receive information regarding additional funding up until the last day of any semester the aid would be applied to. To reduce any loans you have accepted, please email the ORU Financial Aid Office at finaid@oru.edu and list the loan type and the new balance you would like the loan to be. Please be sure to include your name, Z#, and the appropriate school year (07/08) with your email.
4. How can I access the appropriate forms I need to complete my financial aid application?
All forms available for download off the Forms page should be hyperlinked on the Student Requirements screen if the form is still an outstanding requirement for you.
